NightWave …and all that jazz with John Nate – Episode 40, 18.02.2022

This is a special episode since it’s the first one dedicated to the premiere of the album, released on the same day as the new NW episode. So if you’ve been looking for some new names in the modern trip-hop, here it is—the debut album of Elba—an electronic duo hailing from Vancouver, British Columbia. Things aren’t so simple with this band, though. It’s not just trip-hop or rather not trip-hop at all, at least in its traditional sense. The band’s members—Jon Bierman and Amber Sawicki—come from diverse musical backgrounds, and when becoming Elba—as if two streams of one river—they create a fascinating sonic synergy, revealing Breakbeat, Tech house, Folk, Glitch, Synthpop, New wave, and more.
